My stay at the Hilton Garden Inn San Diego Old Town was a mixed experience. On the positive side, the service was excellent with friendly staff ready to help at a moment's notice. However, I faced some issues with location convenience and room comfort that detracted from my overall experience. 🌟

Rooms
6.0
The room and bathroom were clean and had a nice ambiance, but the furniture was uncomfortable, making it difficult to relax. The beds felt hard, which affected my sleep.
Service
10.0
The staff was fantastic and attentive, with some members going above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. Martin from the bar/restaurant especially stood out for his professionalism.
Location
6.0
The hotel is located very close to Old Town and SeaWorld, which is a plus. However, I found the immediate area lacking in dining options, and I did not appreciate the large homeless gathering nearby.
Dining
5.0
While there was an in-house restaurant for breakfast, I found the options limited and the prices higher than expected. It would have been nice to have more nearby dining choices.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities included a pool and jacuzzi, but unfortunately, the jacuzzi was out of order during my stay. Additionally, I encountered some maintenance issues like the gym machines needing repair.

My stay at Hilton Garden Inn San Diego Old Town/Sea World Area was a mixed bag. The location was fantastic, with easy access to the metro and delicious nearby restaurants. However, I encountered issues with room cleanliness and a frustrating check-in process. Overall, I appreciate the convenience of the area's attractions, but my experience with the service left much to be desired. 😕

Rooms
5.0
My room was spacious but had some cleanliness issues. I found dust in the vents and water spots on the shower door. The bed was also uncomfortable, with a noticeable dip in the center that affected my sleep. 🛏️
Service
5.0
While the staff was generally professional, the check-in process was haphazard. I arrived to find my room was mistakenly double-booked, leading to a disappointing experience. Moreover, I wasn't informed that I needed to request room service during my stay. This inconsistency in service left me feeling frustrated.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is a big plus. It's tucked away near old town, making it easy for me to explore and find various dining options. The convenience of being close to the metro station made my travel around San Diego a breeze.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast was decent with a continental offering, but the lack of a hot breakfast bar was disappointing. If you're a Hilton Honors member, be aware that the credit offered doesn't stretch far for a proper meal.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel provides essential facilities like room service, but the lack of attention to room maintenance and the overall outdated feel of some areas were evident.

My stay at Hilton Garden Inn San Diego Old Town/Sea World Area had its ups and downs. While the location is fantastic, with great dining options nearby, I encountered several cleanliness and maintenance issues that were disappointing. Overall, I left feeling that the experience didn't justify the price I paid.

Rooms

The room was decent but showed signs of wear. The mattresses were uncomfortable.
Service

Some staff were friendly, especially in the restaurant, but the front desk service was inconsistent.

Breakfast was good, but the menu at the restaurant could use improvement. Some food quality fell short.

6.6/10

I enjoyed my stay due to the hotel's fantastic location near Old Town, making it easy to explore and find great dining options. However, I was disappointed by the outdated room and the lack of housekeeping services unless requested. Overall, it had its pros and cons, but I expected a bit more for the price.

Rooms
6.0
My room had a musty smell and was definitely showing its age. The bathroom was nice, but I was surprised to find no glassware provided—just coffee cups. The beds were comfortable, though I wasn't a fan of the pillows.
Service
5.0
While most staff were friendly, communication could be improved—like not knowing about the free airport shuttle, which ended up costing me $30 for an Uber. Housekeeping also wasn't as attentive as I expected.
Location
8.0
The location was a huge plus, just a block from Old Town and close to the trolley and great restaurants. Exploring was super convenient, especially with SeaWorld just 8 minutes away.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast in the hotel wasn't included in the stay, and at $15, I felt it was steep. There were better, cheaper options nearby, though the food I did have was surprisingly good.
Facilities
5.0
The amenities were lacking overall. For instance, there were minimal snacks available, and the internet situation was confusing. I couldn't print my work due to lack of supplies, and that was frustrating.
